Rose Kything - the healing powers of a flower.

I used artwork and words from Rebecca Campbels Rose Oracle in this blog. I inserted some of my favorite cards from her beautiful deck.

Flowers have been a sacred part of my healing journey. Whenever I felt sad, I would take walks in nature to feel better. But it wasn’t until I discovered a giant dogrose bush near my house that I began to experience truly transformative healing.

I was captivated by the flower’s colours and fragrance. It felt as though the rose had hypnotized me, gently inviting me closer to appreciate her beauty. I had always thought wildflowers were cute, but I never realized they held such magical properties—until I experienced it for myself.

I would simply hold a flower, gaze into it, and breathe in. Slowly, I began to feel transported into a dream-like state—sweet, gentle, healing, floral, euphoric, and romantic. The spirit of the rose began to communicate with me. My sadness would melt away, my heart would open, and I would feel as healthy and beautiful as the rose itself. It was as if she had blessed me.

That experience made me realize that, like humans, plants also possess a form of consciousness. Since that moment in 2017, I’ve devoted myself to worshipping and honouring the rose.

Upon discovering the precious gifts of a single rose, I dove deeper into understanding flowers—eventually leading me to essential oils. Rose oil quickly became my favorite. These essences capture the subtle effects of the flower, as they contain the vibrational energy of the plant itself.

In my exploration, I studied the bioelectric energetic signatures of plants and found that, of all the species tested, roses had the highest frequency—an astounding 320 MHz. In contrast, a healthy human body resonates between 62–78 MHz, and illness can begin when our frequency drops below 58 MHz. With a frequency that nearly triples that of a healthy human, it’s no wonder I was so drawn to the healing properties of the rose. By simply breathing with and connecting to these high-frequency substances, I began to raise my own vibration—leading to greater feelings of health and happiness.

I didn’t know what it was called at the time, but I have been Kything since I was a child. Kything is a mystical Celtic practice of connecting with the consciousness of nature—plants, water, crystals, or flowers—by merging your soul with the spirit of the sacred energy that lives within all things. I practiced Kything through crystal meditation, walking barefoot on the earth, fire gazing, and hugging trees. But the most mystical form of Kything I experience is when I kyth with flowers.

I believe every particle of our being is made of energy. We are 99% energy and only 1% matter. All energy vibrates at a frequency, and ours is constantly shifting as we interact with the psychic atmosphere of our environment. Flowers, with their naturally high and harmonious energy, can uplift us—if we are attuned to them.

I love to hold flowers to my heart, inhale their aromas, and become one with them. I appreciate their beauty and respect them deeply. Over time, I began to communicate with flowers telepathically and hear the gentle whispers of my soul. My heart chakra truly opens when I’m near roses—I feel the shift. It feels as if the spirit of the rose mother is hugging me.

I also love lilacs, crabapple blossoms, and sunflowers—but wild roses are my favorite. Each flower has its own unique vibe. For instance, I’ve noticed lilacs like being picked. They are abundant, uplifting, and calming. They offer their petals generously, allowing us to bring their essence into our homes. Thank you, Lilac.

Wild roses, on the other hand, have boundaries. They prefer to be admired in their natural state, still connected to the branch. She does not wish to be picked—only appreciated.

The Great Rose has been a friend, healer, and teacher to me. I’ve learned so much from flowers, and I am deeply grateful. A significant part of my healing and spiritual awakening has come through my relationship with flowers.

So thank you—thank you, Mother Nature, for gifting us with flowers. Their energy is truly potent. By consciously attuning ourselves to their vibration, we can receive the feminine wisdom that flows through all living things.

Now, I always stop to smell the roses.

(Also, thank you to Rebecca Campbell for sharing her wisdom and gifts.)
